You are a Mighty Hero

Image
In Judges 6, the Midianites had overtaken the people of Isreal. They were making their lives miserable. When the Isrealites’ crops came up, the Midianites would go in and destroy the produce. They were a bigger and stronger nation. It looked as though they would eventually drive the Isrealites away. There was a man named Gideon who was hiding in the fields, afraid of the Midianites. An angel appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you.” I can imagine Gideon looked around and thought, who’s he talking about? I’m not a mighty hero. Gideon wasn’t strong and courageous. He was just the opposite; afraid and intimidated, yet God called him a mighty hero. Like Gideon, you may feel weak, but God calls you strong, you may feel intimidated; God calls you courageous. You feel inadequate; God calls you well able, you may think you’re average, but God calls you a mighty hero. When you get up in the morning and the negative thoughts come, reminding you of what you’re not, te...

The Power to be a Healer

Image
I declare that I will live as a healer. I am sensitive to the needs of those around me. I will lift the fallen, restore the broken, and encourage the discouraged. I am full of compassion and kindness. I won’t just look for a miracle. I will become someone’s miracle by showing God’s love and mercy everywhere I go. You’re never more like God than when you help hurting people. One of our assignments in life is to help wipe away the tears. Are you sensitive to the needs of those around you? Your friends? Your neighbors? Your coworker? Many times behind the pretty smile, behind the Sunday praise, there is a person who’s hurting. She’s alone. His life is in turmoil. When someone is struggling. Reach out. Be a healer. Be a restorer, take time to wipe away the tears. Your job is not to judge. Your job is not to figure out if someone deserve something, or to decide who is right or who is wrong. Your job is to lift the fallen, to restore the broken, and to heal the hurting. Too often...

You have God DNA

Image
When God created you in His image, He put a part of Himself in you. You could say that you have the DNA of Almighty God. You are destined to do great things, destined to leave your mark on this generation. Your heavenly father spoke worlds into existence. He flung stars into space. He painted every sunrise. He designed every flower. He made man out of dust and breathed life into him. Now, here’s the key: He is not just the creator of the universe. He is not just the all powerful God. He is your heavenly father. You have His DNA. Imagine what you can do. But too many times we don’t realize who we are. We focus on our weaknesses, what we don’t have, the mistakes we have made, and the family we come from. We end up settling for mediocrity when we were created for greatness. If you are going to break out of average, you need to remind yourself, “I have the DNA of the Most High God. Greatness is in my gene. I come from a bloodline of champions.” When you realize who you are, you won...

Hope for the Dry Dreams

Image
In the Old Testament, Ezekiel saw a vision. He had this dream of a valley filed with bones. It was like a huge graveyard. Everywhere he looked were acres and acres of bones from people who died. Bones may represent things in your life that look dead, situations that seem impossible and permanently unchanging. God told him to do something interesting. He said, “Ezekiel, prophesy to these dead bones. Say to them, ‘Oh, you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.” Ezekiel, in this vision, started speaking to the bones, telling them to come back to life. He called in skin, muscle, and tissue. As he was out of a movie, morphing back into a person. Finally, God told him to “prophesy to the breath” and call it forth. The Scripture says, “As he prophesied, breath came into those bodies, and they stood up like a vast army.” You may have things in your life that seem dead – a business, relationship, career, ministry, children out of control, your health. All you can see is a valley of dry bones,...

Our culture teaches us to be impressed by a leader’s power, eloquent skills, academic degrees, and   wealth, thinking that those characteristics add up to great leadership. Yet you must not imagine that your country will remain strong and established if you vote for someone just because you like the way he speaks, or even if you approve of some of his accomplishments. Before you follow anyone, you must know what that person truly believe and on what path he is taking you. You might find out to place undue confidence on how powerful a leader is or how much knowledge he has or who his mentor was.
