How To Think Big

Image
The tendency for so many people to think small means there is much less competition than you think for a very rewarding career. Where success is concerned, people are not measured in inches or pounds or college degrees, or family background; people are been measured by the size of their thinking. How big we think determines the size of our accomplishments. Now let’s see how we can enlarge our thinking. Ever ask yourself, “What is my greatest weakness?” Probably the greatest human weakness is self-deprecation-that is, selling oneself very cheap. Self-deprecation shows through in countless ways. Mr. Ali sees a job advertisement in the paper; it’s exactly what he would like to do. But he does nothing about it because he thinks, “I’m not good enough for the job, so why bother?” or Mr. Obi wants a date with Miss Chioma, but he doesn’t call her because he thinks he wouldn’t rate with her. Here is what I have learned. The enemy doesn’t try to stop you from starting. He has seen a lot of people start. That doesn’t bother him. But when you have a made-up mind and keep pushing forward, doing the right thing, taking new ground, when he sees you getting closer, he will work overtime even he will employ a lot of people to join him try to keep you from finishing. Don’t get discouraged when you have setbacks, people come against you, or you get a negative medical report. That’s a sign that you are moving toward your finish line. When you have a setback always believe in yourself and keep focusing because the best is ahead of you. The enemy was fine when you got started. He was fine when you were far from finishing. No big deal to him. But when you began to make progress that got his atte
